The SLO Mermaid Company was founded on one eccentric aquarium collector’s desire to bring back the great deco aquarium ornaments from the 1920s. These beautiful ornaments are made of bisque (unglazed porcelain) and painstakingly hand-painted using techniques that were used on the originals from the 1920s. The porcelain (or bisque) has been fired twice in a kiln to help prevent color fading should you decide to place this in your fishbowl or aquarium. The SLO Mermaid Company will release a minimum of 10 new ornaments per year, all designed after original aquarium ornaments from 1890 through the 1920s. Originals of these ornaments sell to collectors from $50.00 to $800.00 or more! Each SLO Mermaid ornament is strictly limited to a 5,000 piece production run!
